My mother-in-law makes a gingerbread house kit for all the grandchildren every year. Here are the ingredients you need for a gingerbread house gift basket:

Gingerbread House Gift Basket -

This one can be as simple or fancy as you want to make it. The fancy variation starts with baking all needed gingerbread house building pieces in a mold like my mother in law does

The simple way is to buy a ready made gingerbread house.

The simplest way is to go buy a box of graham crackers for mini gingerbread houses.

The icing can't be premixed completely, but you can include powdered sugar and cream of tartar, plus a box of food coloring and an icing recipe. You will also need a frosting bag with at least one tip for piping. Ziploc bags with a tiny snipped corner also will work.

Next comes the fun stuff! Add chocolates, peppermint sticks, frosted shredded wheat cereal, fruit loops, Red Hots, Lifesavers, candy canes, bubblegum tape, or anything else you like. Try to gather both small and large items to fit every creative whim.

Other fun items to include: a copy of The Gingerbread Man, the Gingerbread House Sticker Activity Book (Dover Little Activity Books), a Christmas storybook, holiday music, hot chocolate or Celestial Seasonings Gingerbread Spice tea
