Digital Photo Picture Frames

This Christmas we went in together with my husband's siblings and bought my in-laws a Ceiva digital photo frame. This digital frame comes with a membership that allows anyone you invite to upload photos online, which are then sent remotely to the frame. (My in-laws don't even have the internet - the frame uses the phone line for a minute in the midlle of the night.)

We programmed the frame to come on at a certain time in the morning and go off around bedtime, but other than that, there was very little set-up involved.

My daughter (7 years old) has already learned how to select a photo on our computer and send it to Grandpa and Grandma. I even showed her how to customize the pictures with borders and message bubbles, which she loves!

Digital frames come in many shapes, sizes and prices! I have seen tiny digital photo keychain frames that only hold half a dozen photos and large frames that hold hundreds.

Each picture shows on the frame for a certain number of seconds. If you don't want to see a picture anymore you delete it, or with some frames you send it to a holding file. Certain frames like the Ceiva let you divide the pictures into albums and then choose which albums you want to display currently.

If you live nearby the person you are giving the frame to, you might want to go with one of the less expensive digital frames that you load pictures onto directly using a USB and/or memory card, but we really like the fact that with the Ceiva digital photo frame, we can connect from far away.
