A Day Together

I shop for a tough Dad. My fiance has just about everything he could possibly need, and what he doesn't have, he's more than happy to buy for himself before I have the chance, which leaves me very few options. Finally, last year, I'd decided I'd bought my last tacky "Best Father" coffee mug and tshirt, and planned a day of fun for him. He loves to hike, so I bought a picnic, packed up a tent and camping equipment, and stuck the kids in the car. We headed to a nearby state park that had camping sites for only $15, and set up camp. We hiked the woods, swam in the (cost included) swimming pool for campers, and had our picnic dinner, complete with roasting marshmellows. We all had such a great time, and my fiance later said it was the best Father's Day gift he'd ever recieved. I think what he loved so much about it was that he got to spend so much time with his little boys- and isn't that what Father's Day is about, after all?
